More info See in Glossary is an API for rendering graphics in web browsers, which is based on the functionality of the OpenGL ES graphics library. The Unity WebGL build option allows Unity to publish content as JavaScript programs which use HTML5 technologies and the WebGL rendering API to run Unity content in a web browser. I think that you do not get my point of view.WebGL A JavaScript API that renders 2D and 3D graphics in a web browser. but right now and with the performances of the WebGL/Web Browser, i'm sure that the result will be bad for low end computer or for an "acceptable" normal computer. Maybe we can extend this post with some WebGL exemples with dynamic lights, complex static geometry ect. I'm not angry about your post, it sound logic and it's totally understandable but my post was not made in order to promote anything mainly in this section. I'm an hobbyist, and my post is more here to encourage the other hobbyist like me who encounter a lot of problems with the WebGL with a simple scene or a small project that it's possible to do something. I made this game to explore the WebGL, to know where is the limite of the WebGL.
when everybody know that even with your effort the performances will be bad. I don't see any reason to play with the dynamic lights, animations or complex UI ect. Right now, you can't convert a popular 3D game released in Web Player for the WebGL because the WebGL has a bad performances in fact. War Attack website if you want to try it : Ĭlick to expand.I think that you do not get my point of view. I'm an hobbyist, so if i can do it, you can do it also ! It has been hard for me to get this result and to fixe all problems, but now everything is running. So for you ! yeah you who are thinking that you will never be able to do something or to fixe a problem with the WebGL ! Just continue your efforts, take your time, check the documentations ect and you will see the end of the tunnel.
#Unity webgl rush team code#
If someone from the unity unity staff see this post, can you make list box for the strip engine code where we can be able to select or unselect what we want? In my case everything is done by asset bundle and the scene build with my game contain nothing exept few gui and code to load the rest, so i can't use the strip engine code feature. normally planned for september.Īccording the performances of my WebGL game and the new features coming with the WebGL 2.0, i'm sure that i will be able to convert my game who use the Unity Web Player for the WebGL and to get a correct result.
The bad thing is that the dead line is coming but unfortunately we don't have any news about the webassembly ect.
I will not say that it's perfect, but it's on the good way. and now, i can say that the performances is acceptable. Like the dead line is coming for us, i have started a new game in order to see what i can and can't do with the WebGL.įirstly, the result was horrible in terms of performances, so i have changed my way to code the game, checked everything about the textures, sounds ect. Well, maybe like a lot of you, i have already a game called Rush Team and it work with the unity web player. I see that a lot of users are tired or encounters some problems with the WebGL, so i will share with you my experience.
